Celebrate the simple life everyday

Time flies and it has been about 8 months since fashionably yours last blogged.  Thank you for supporting my blog despite not blogging for so long.  Well fashionably yours is excellent, as usual, doing the normal stuff, such as eat, sleep and of course working.  However am very busy working that I don't have much time to shop.  In a good way is I cut down my expenses since not much time to shop.  Yes I still do shop but only buy what I need and not wants. 

Glad I took the leap of faith in my profession.  Not gonna discuss about work here but just feel that I have grown and learnt a lot during the last six months and counting.  Things that I would not have come acrossed if I had stayed in my old division.  One thing for sure is change is constant.  We must always adapt to it.  If you don't add value anymore in what you are doing, it means time to move on. 

In fact, one doesn't need much to survive, just the basic will do.  Sun, fresh air and clean water.  I am grateful when I could open my eyes everyday when I wake up in the morning to breathe the fresh air and see the ray of sun shining through my windows or listen to the rhythm of the falling rain.  We can be happy everyday living the simple life.  One don't need to own many branded goods or attend the most posh events and parties in town to be happy.  What does happiness mean to you ?  To me, being alive is happiness :)  Simplicity is bliss and I enjoy my privacy. 

Met my workspouse for lunch last week and he told me that I am looking better than last time.  It glows on my face. Yes indeed though my new role has kept me super busy yet fashionably yours has gained about 4kg since moving to my new division for only about six months.  I organised  lots of corporate events and so much eating *LOL*   If anyone of you have any good food caterers, feel free to recommend to me because I am in charge of ordering yummy food for our corporate events.

Oh la la......talking about food at this wee hour. Oh my.....making my tummy growling.  Nevertheless I just had some kettle brand honey Dijon chips which is my favourite. I think my favourite past time is eating nowadays.  Recently there is the launch of a famous donut outlet at Orchard Road. I shall not mention the name here since they are not asking me to endorse.  I find it amusing seeing people lining up before the store open for business.  It is only donuts, don't get too excited.  There are better things to do than to form line. Maybe Singaporean favourite past time is lining up.  They can line up for lots of stuff, such as buying iphone, ipad, donuts, fast food hello kitty, etc.......With so much training on lining up, can they line up properly when boarding the bus and train ? hmm....not so sure on this though hahaha......

Besides working, fashionably yours enjoy cooking simple and healthy food. It helps me to destress.   Perhaps I should blog about my cooking someday and post pictures to share recipes.  Just now I cooked spinach and mushroom soup.  Yummy.

 

 

Fashionably yours took leave on Monday to rest and relax, enjoy this long weekend,  Have been working so hard.  Hence glad to take this short break for a breather.  Wishing all Muslims friends Selamat Hari Raya Haji. Happy holidays to the rest of my friends and readers.

Happy Holidays

Time flies and May is already here. May is gonna be an awesome month.  It is fashionably yours birthday month.  There are 3 Public Holidays in May - Labour Day, Polling Day and Vesak Day.  

Fashionably yours has been working like mad since January 2011 till April 2011.  Often worked till the last one to leave office and gotta bring work home to do.  April 2011 was the peak of my peak period at work.  Now things are more or less settled and hoping to be able to knock off work on the dot from May 2011 onwards till the next peak period around October. Well it is good to be busy at work. I try to have work life balance.  I work hard, I play harder and I rest hardest. In between work and during my madness at work, I also went out to have fun with friends.

This morning I woke up to the news of Osama bin  Laden 's death.  Fashionably yours watched the LIVE broadcast of President Obama at the White House addressing on Osama bin Laden's death.   Osama was hiding in the medium-sized city of Abbottabad, home to a large Pakistani military base and a military academy of the Pakistani Army. After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body. Muslim tradition requires burial within 24 hours, but by doing it at sea, American authorities presumably were trying to avoid creating a shrine for his followers. Osama bin Laden's body was taken to Afghanistan and later buried at sea after he was slain in Pakistan. President Obama said Justice has been done.  For more, read here

On our local shore, the Singapore General Election 2011 is keeping the nation busy by attending rallies. A lot of my friends went to attend rallies.  Most of us are going to the polling station this coming Saturday 7 May 2011 to vote.  Tanjong Pagar GRC is the only constituency that has walk over.  It was so exciting on nomination day on 27 April 2011. I was on leave that day and watched it LIVE from Channel News Asia broadcasting LIVE from the various nomination centres.  Have been seeing and hearing the PAP lorry going around the estates announcing Please vote for PAP.   Lots of  partis posters are hang up at the lamposts island wide too.   Fashionably yours belong to the Holland Bukit Timah GRC.  Which GRC or SMC do you belong to ?  I am not gonna blog about elections here but just to remind everybody to vote wisely on 7 May 2011.

Christmas Updates and my festive seasons holidays break

Fashionably yours have been enjoying my festive seasons break and very relaxing everyday.  Popped in the office the other day to wrap the gifts for my colleagues. 

This basket of gifts are our gifts from our department to our colleagues.

It is all home made Almond Biscuits and  wrapped with love and care.

Went for a pedicure session Moday evening and feel so relaxing.

Wednesday was Girls Day Out with Bestie.  We went to the salon to get a new hairdo in the afternoon, followed by Japanese dinner. Will post pics of fashionably yours with the new haido when I take new pictures.  Our dinner at Ichiban Boshi at Suntec :

Fashionably yours had some white wine at the Office Christmas Party. Simply heaven.  Thanks to big boss for the nice white wine. It was fun chilling with colleagues at the party.

After the party, chillax with Lemon-san at Ya Kun.  We also shopped around Orchard Road. It was both human jam and traffic jam, so we just shopped for a while and rushed home sweet home before the crowds rushed into Orchard Road.

Well, another Christmas come and gone so fast.  Hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas.  Counting down to Year 2010....6 days to Year 2010.  Time to reflect and make new year resolutions.  I don't make new year resolutions but I only make short term resolutions which is easier for me to achieve.  I like to make to-do lists for the day, week and month.

Alrighty, time for my beauty sleep now.  Sweet dreams and good night everyone.

Festive seasons holidays

Fashionably yours is very happy now enjoying my tai tai lifestyle. I would say I love this long festive seasons holidays break.  Work is out of mind and out of sight during my long festive seasons holidays break.  Yippee !  I can sleep late and wake up anytime I like...seems to have all the time, free and easy and very relaxing.  This is my most wonderful time of the year and loving it.  Yesterday afternoon chillax at Holland Village and loving this back yard of mine.
