Dinner at the soup spoon

Met up with Bestie two weeks ago before she flew back to the land of the rising sun for dinner.
We ate at Soup Spoon at ION Orchard. It was our first time at that outlet.  Normally we dined at their paragon outlet.  We had the mushroom soup and asian tofu salad.  It is our all time favourite and very healthy.  It is very filling.

Asian Tofu

After we had our dinner, we chatted for a while.  Thereafter we shopped around ION.  Bestie bought some drinks and cough mixture from Eu Yang Sang.  By now she is already back in the land of the rising sun. Hope no more shaking in the land of the rising sun and may the radiation be reduced to the minimum.

Happening Week

Last week was a happening week for fashionably yours.  Was on leave last Monday so headed to the spa at Holland Village for a relaxing full body scrub and massage in the afternoon.  I love it when I was the only customer at the spa in the afternoon while most of the people are working in the office.  Had the aromatherapy full body massage.  It was so convenient for me since it is just nearby and within walking distance.  After I am done at the spa, met up with a tai tai friend for afternoon tea.  The two of us were chilling at Coffee Bean and Tea chit chatting happily. I had the swedish berry tea while my tai tai friend had the ice blended latte.  Thereafter we headed to do some grocery shopping at Holland Village cold storage. We had lots of fun at the supermarket.  What do you think when you put "Carrie" and "Samantha" together (SATC). Use your imaginations and be creative.  SATC is one of my favourite sitcom.  Fashionably yours love chilling at Holland Village and it is where I am residing.  If you see me at Holland Village, say Hi to me.  All are welcome to Holland Village.

Last Tuesday night, met up with bestie who is back from Japan, for dinner.  Glad to see each other.  We actually wanted to dine at our favourite place Royal Coppenhagen Tea Lounge but found out it has closed and now TWG is the new tenant there.  While we were there last Tuesday, TWG was yet to open for business.  In the end we went to dine at The Canele at The Paragon.  I find that the food at The Canele is so so only.  That place is only good for a hot cup of tea, cakes, pastries and desserts.  Fashioinably yours love to eat their strawberry shortcake. However it was sold out while we were there after 8pm.  I was so sore about it.  Next time, I must go there during lunch hour  to buy my favourite strawberry shortcake.

Fashionably yours had the carbonara while bestie had the marinara spaghettini and madagascar ice cream sorbet

We chatted  for a while after we had our dinner, before we headed home sweet home.

In fact, fashionably yours was super busy at work recently and is my peak period at work.  Had been working like mad for the past 3 weeks due to our financial year end closing and beginning of our new financial year. I have been working till about 8pm++ and last one to leave office.  We need to clear our annual leave before 31 March 2011.  That's why I was on leave on and off too to rest in between.

Last Thursday, met up with some friends in the afternoon at Sakae Sushi for their afternoon tea buffet at Wisma Atria.  The company was great but the food is so so only. Sakae Sushi's standard has dropped compared to last time. We find the cuting of the sashimi is not that nice and not much variety for the sushi.  Fashionably yours still prefer to dine at  Sushi Tei over Sakae Sushi.  We had lots of laughters and fun that afternoon.

Guess all these activities help me to destress.  Yes fashionably yours work hard but I play harder too.  As I am blogging now, I am glad to announce that my important reports are done and submitted.  There are still some more reports to do but I don't have to rush them like mad.  I was working last weekend rushing out my reports.  Glad I am able to rest, relax and recharge this weekends.  Yippe ! I am so HAPPY.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Happy Lunar New Year

Today is the first day of the Lunar New Year.  Fashionably yours is so busy with cooking and entertaining my relatives.  My house is like an open house with non stop CNY visitings by my relatives.  My CNY is more busy than my working days because I have to buy grocery for the CNY feasting, clean the house and buy CNY goodies to entertain my guests/relatives.

It is nice to see my relatives for our once a year catch up.  Glad they enjoyed all the CNY goodies which I bought.  There are pineapple tarts, kuen pang kuet, cranberry mix nuts, honey sour plum sweet and crispy banana chips.  Fashionably yours ate some too and can't resist them.  Ate till my body feels abit heatiness.  Need some cooling drinks to cool down the heatiness in my body.

My family has been eating steamboat since our reunion dinner.  Yummy and ate till so full and getting abit tired of eating it.  Want to eat something else.  Guess most family are eating steamboat for CNY which is common here.

So what else does people do during CNY. Most of us will gamble, play majong, watching TV, eat and make merry catching up with one anoteher.  During CNY, Singapore seems like shutting down, because most of the shops are closed for business.  Everybody is celebrating CNY. I am looking forward to see Lion dance performance.

Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous Lunar New Year.

Dinner at Fish and Co - 22 December 2010

On 22nd December 2010, went to have a new hair do with bestie at Suntec City. We spent about 4 hours at the salon. Of course, we chit chat happily while the hair stylist did our hair. Nice to do our hair together.
After our hair are done, we were famished so we went for dinner at Fish & Co. They have the ladies night promotion 1 for 1 after 6pm. We are so lucky. We didn't know this promotion till we were at Fish & Co.

Fashionably yours had the cream chowder soup, pouched mussels in tomato broth spaghetti and passion fruit juice. Bestie had the baked cod in miso sauce, english breakfast tea and cake.

Their services are good and very attentive. The pouched mussels in totmato broth spaghett was so spicy that even the waitress noticed I have difficulty eating it. She volunteered to ask the chef to change the broth to a non spicy one for me. I was elated. It was wonderful. Bestie said the cod fish is not as fresh as those in Japan and the cake is abit too sweet.  Nevertheless, we ate till very full though I did not finished eating the spagheti as it was too much for me.

Shoppings and Dinner

Shopping happily on Wednesday with bestie.  Shopaholics at the malls. It was also Isetan Private Sales.  Met bestie at Isetan Scotts.  She bought toys for her nephews while fashionably yours bought a new pair of Guess shades.  My last shade was bought a few years ago, so time for me to buy a new pair for the new decade 2011.

Thereafter we shopped at Wisma Atria.  Fashionably yours bought some toiletries (masks and sunblock)from The Body Shop.  Also bought a new blouse from my favourite Bebe boutique and two sexy long maxi dresses from a shop in basement 1.

We had dinner at our favourite restaurant - Royal Copenhagen at Takashimaya shopping centre level 2.  The staff there recognise us since we are regulars there.  It feels like we are at our 2nd home, feels very welcome, comfortable and warmth.

Click here for our dinner at Royal Copenhagen post and pictures

After we had our dinner, we continue shoppings at Takashimaya and Watsons.  Fashionably yours bought some vitamins from Watsons before we call it a night and head home sweet home.

Feel very happy with my shoppings and dinner.

Dinner at Marina Bay Sands - Beanstro

Initially a few of us want to dine at Ku De Ta on Monday night but was fully booked. We had to walk around the mall at MBS to look for restaurants and most are fully booked too. In the end, some of the friends went to eat at the food court at MBS. However bestie and I went to dine at Beanstro, a cafe by the Coffee Bean and Tea. It was the only place that we can find that still has seats for us at about 8pm dinner. Bravo :))

We quickly ordered our food as we were famished from all the walkings at MBS. We had the Christmas special - Roast Lamb Leg which fashionably yours find it abit cold but still ok. We also had their Christmas cakes - Linzer and Florentine fruit cake. I like the Linzer cake because it has my favourite strawberry on top of the cake. I love to eat cakes. We drank the swedish berries tea which according to the waitress is their best selling tea.
Shortly after we had our dinner, our two girlfriends - KJ-san and SY-san joined us for drinks here while we chit chat the night away before we head home sweet home.

Dinner and Fancl

On Friday night, met up with good friend K-san for dinner at Billy Bombers at The Central at Clarke Quay.  It was not so crowded when we reached there and no quene.  We were shown to our table immediately when we reached the place.  Service is pretty fast and friendly staff.

K-san will be going to Japan to work for 2 years ++ soon.  I told him to help me buy the same Fancl products for me on his next trip back. He said will try if there is enough space in his luggage.  I will also ask bestie to help me to buy on her next trip back to Singapore.  I miss you bestie, please come back asap and we can go dining, shoppings and bitchings.  Well now 2 of you are base in Japan for long period, definitely missing the 2 of you.

Looking forward to meet up with your when your are back for holidays.

Wonderful long weekends

Fashionably yours had a wonderful long weekends.  On Sunday, went out with babyface for some shoppings in the afternoon.  Accompanied him to buy a belt, contact lenses and we had grocery shoppings because he wants to cook dinner for me.  Told him I was craving for spaghetti so he cooked it specially for me.  How sweet he is and I find it so romantic for a man to cook for a woman.  Feel so pampered and loved.  While babyface was preparing the meal, I just sit back and relax infront of the telly watching Cougar Town.

Our spaghetti all done and ready to eat eat eat
It was so yummy that fashionably yours finished everything cleaned.  The best spaghetti I ever eaten and was cooked with love.  Such a luxury to have home cook meal for me and from a man.

After we had our spaghetti, we chilled out at his apartment with drinks and watched a movie titled Yellow Beard.  It was a very comical movie and we enjoyed it.  Nice and lovely time we had together and loving everything about it.  It is all that simple life.  He is now thinking what to cook for me next time.  I would say I really enjoy his cooking and can feel the love and efforts he put into the cooking.  Thanks babyface.  Looking forward to more dishes you gonna cook for me.  Cheers :)

Dinner at Ichiban Boshi

Last two Friday ago, met up with bestie and K-san for dinner at Ichiban Boshi at Centrepoint.  It was nice meeting K-san after so long, about one year ago since we last saw him.  There was no quene formed at the restaurant when we reached there.  We were quickly shown to our table immediately.  The restaurant was not so packed when we reached there but slowly the crowds built up.  Services were abit slow and seem like they were under staff because they took some time to refill our drinks and we need to request for drinks refill instead of them checking our glasses regularly to refill the drinks.  The food was yummy. Bestie feedback that she finds the food served in town  is more delicious compared to the food served in their heartland outlets.

My favourite salmon sashimi
My bento set - miso soup, chawan mushi, rice and oranges
My tamago sushi
Bestie's soup

K-san's ebi sushi
Bestie's chocolate ice cream
K-san's rikyu icr cream

Actually K-san had chasoba (green tea noodles) and some sushi but he ate them too fast before I could take a snapshot of his food.  Fashionably yours skipped the dessert since I find it fattening.  I am very health conscious of what I eat.  The food cannot be too oily and I don't eat fried food much.  My slim figure is all thanks to my diet :))   After we are done with our dinner, bestie and I went shoppings while K-san went home sweet home.

We shopped at Uniqlo at 313 Somerset.  Both of us both a +J jackets.  Love the jackets very much.  Thereafter is home sweet home for us since it was late and most of the shops are closing.  In fact, that day was really a Japanese day for me because I had Japanese cuisine for lunch and dinner.  Feel so Japanese :)

Fashionably yours is feeling so sleepy now and I wanna go to bed.  Good night everyone and sweet dreams.

Happy New Year Eve

It is New Year eve today, the last day of 2009.  Fashionably yours is here blogging to update the happenings before 2010 arrives.  We need to clear all our backlog before the new year arrives.

I enjoyed my festive seasons holiday break and very relaxing.  The last 2 days was Girls Days Out with bestie and very fun.  Lots of retail therapy and food.

The second day of our retail therapy was fruitful because bestie bought her Ferragamo Vera pump. In fact, I think we bought more shoes this time round.  The first day bestie bought 2 pair of shoes at a good discount and I bought my sandal and a pair of black high heels at a good discount.  We are shoes addict.  We wanted to buy clothes but ended up with more shoes purchased.  We love shoes.  Actually I wanted to buy Ferragamo heels but they do not have my size in the colour I like, so I skipped.  Everywhere is having sales now and so crowded at Orchard Road.  Zara sales has just started so still can shop. I haven't been to Zara sales yet but will try to make time for it...think next week most probably.

On the second day of our retail therapy, fashionably yours bought a nice red dress while bestie bought a nice black blouse.  We had lots of fun and laughters at the fitting room.  One of the lady seek my fashion advise at the fitting room and I happily gave which she appreciated very much. I am glad she trusted me and appreciated my efforts.  It makes my day.  OMG ! I am not only bestie's fashion and stylist consultant, I have new clients now.  I love fashion.

We had dinner at The soup spoon

My tofu salad

Have been eating lots of salad of late. I love eating salad and so healthy.  I want to be eco friendly and reduce my carbon footprints on earth.  Therefore, please don't consume so much meat, especially beef.  Let's do our part to save the earth.
