Happy Holidays

Time flies and May is already here. May is gonna be an awesome month.  It is fashionably yours birthday month.  There are 3 Public Holidays in May - Labour Day, Polling Day and Vesak Day.  

Fashionably yours has been working like mad since January 2011 till April 2011.  Often worked till the last one to leave office and gotta bring work home to do.  April 2011 was the peak of my peak period at work.  Now things are more or less settled and hoping to be able to knock off work on the dot from May 2011 onwards till the next peak period around October. Well it is good to be busy at work. I try to have work life balance.  I work hard, I play harder and I rest hardest. In between work and during my madness at work, I also went out to have fun with friends.

This morning I woke up to the news of Osama bin  Laden 's death.  Fashionably yours watched the LIVE broadcast of President Obama at the White House addressing on Osama bin Laden's death.   Osama was hiding in the medium-sized city of Abbottabad, home to a large Pakistani military base and a military academy of the Pakistani Army. After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body. Muslim tradition requires burial within 24 hours, but by doing it at sea, American authorities presumably were trying to avoid creating a shrine for his followers. Osama bin Laden's body was taken to Afghanistan and later buried at sea after he was slain in Pakistan. President Obama said Justice has been done.  For more, read here

On our local shore, the Singapore General Election 2011 is keeping the nation busy by attending rallies. A lot of my friends went to attend rallies.  Most of us are going to the polling station this coming Saturday 7 May 2011 to vote.  Tanjong Pagar GRC is the only constituency that has walk over.  It was so exciting on nomination day on 27 April 2011. I was on leave that day and watched it LIVE from Channel News Asia broadcasting LIVE from the various nomination centres.  Have been seeing and hearing the PAP lorry going around the estates announcing Please vote for PAP.   Lots of  partis posters are hang up at the lamposts island wide too.   Fashionably yours belong to the Holland Bukit Timah GRC.  Which GRC or SMC do you belong to ?  I am not gonna blog about elections here but just to remind everybody to vote wisely on 7 May 2011.

Long weekend

TGIF and a Public Holiday.  Bliss.  It has been raining the whole day today and the weather is so nice and cooling. Loving it.  It is a four-day work week this week because today is a Public Holiday.  Wising all Muslim friends Selamat Hari Raya Adil filtri.  The rest of us are enjoying the Public Holiday and long weekend.  Hurray :)

The doctor said I am under stress and fatigue so advised fashionably yours to rest a lot.  I am feeling so listless and tiring.  Could be due to my PMS and recovering from the flu.  Sometimes I feel so tired mentally and physically.  Too many things to handle.  Must learn to slow down and take life easy.

It was raining super heavy on Wednesday morning on my way to work.  Thus fashionably yours was drenched and showered with sky juice as my small brolly is of not much help in the heavy downpour.  Once I reached my office, I quickly dried myself.  My pair of wedges was wet too.  Luckily I have a pair of  flats at work so I could change into that. At first I was thinking to wait for the rain to let up so I could walk across the road with my small brolly to my office but I saw the rain was getting heavy and water pondles on the road. I was worried it will flood so I decided to dash across the road to my office in the super heavy rain with my small brolly.  As I am recovering from my flu, I was abit worried I might be sick again since I was drenched.  Thank God, I am still feeling alright on Thursday.

It has been a rainy Hari Raya Puasa today.  I love the rain especially when I am indoor, but not when I am outdoor with the rain.  Now the rain has stopped and I am enjoying this nice and cooling weather. RELAXING.

Gong Xi Fai Cai

Gong Xi Fa Cai.  Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous Lunar New Year in the Year of the Golden Tiger.  How is your CNY ?  Guess must be lots of eating delicacies, pineapple tarts, goodies, bak kwa and so on and so forth with all the visitings and catching up with each other. 

Fashionably yours place was full house on the 1st day of CNY...non-stop flowing of human traffic to my place for visitings.  Thus lots of entertaining on my part.  It was tiring but fun catching up with each other over food, chocolate brownies and all the CNY goodies.  So far so good on my eating part, I controlled what I consumed.  I am still eco-friendly, eatings lots of green and fruits. 

Due to the festive seasons, I think lots of people are falling ill due to lots heaty stuff they consumed.  The clinics will be full house these few days.  Just take a look at the clinic if you walked past any.  The doctors will be laughing their way to the bank.  Take care everyone and be sure to drink some cooling herbal tea.  Fashionably yours have been drinking chrysanthemum tea. 

This is indeed a long CNY weekends and hope everyone had an enjoyable time. The next Public Holiday will be on 2nd April 2010 which is Good Friday.  Tomorrow some of you are going back to work and back to school.  However fashionably yours is still off tomorrow, so gonna take it slow and enjoy myself amidst the lush greenery to rest and relax after all the CNY celebrations.

I am looking forward to see some lion dance performances which I really like.  For now, let's enjoy the CNY celebrations. 

Freebies and good deals

Oh la la.....time flies and today is the 1st day of May which is also a Public Holiday. Yes it is May Day. Yeah.....no work today, rest day for fashionably yours and also a long weekend. Very happy and love the month of May because there are two Public Holidays - 1st May is May Day and 9 May is Vesak Day. Another reason is because fashionaby yours birthday also fall in May and in two weeks time. Yesterday was doing some planning at work and put the date on a document which the date looks so familiar and rings a bell to me. Oh then realize it was fashionably yours birthday so change the document's date :)

The global economy is already so bad and now the swine flu disease seems spreading fast from Mexico to Asia and Europe. Pray that this swine flu disease will be kept under controlled and stop spreading. My company is taking pre-caution measures. Business trips to Mexio, USA, Canada and affected countries are currently suspended. Staff who are not feeling well should seek medical consultation and stay at home to rest. We must take good care of our health by having sufficient rest, exercise, don't be so stress, eat fruits and drink lots of water to build up our immunity system.

Well fashionably yours have been extremely super busy at work in April. So many things to handle and finally got most of it done. Phew ! what a relief, feel happy and have a sense of satisfaction. Actually have been very busy both at the work front and the social front. So busy that really have no time to update blog and too tired to update my blog. At least now fashionably yours can sit down to update my blog.

Did you see the FREE SKII samples ? I was so happy when I got it because it is only limited to 40 readers. I am so so so lucky to be able to collect it. 02022009 = 2nd Feb 2009

The CNY Public Holidays is over oh so fast. The next Public Holiday is gonna only be in April 2009 which is a Good Friday Public Holiday. In other words, there are no Public Holidays in February 2009 and March 2009. Take your own leave to declare self holiday then.

Today is the 2nd day of February 2009 and also the 2nd month of 2009. Phew ! was very busy at work today, running here and there to get things done. Amazingly seems like fashionably yours is jogging in the office in my high heels and pumping up my adrenalin. Never ending tasks which I guess is a good thing, especially now with the bad economy. Thus it is good to be busy at work.

Nevertheless, I still take time to relax over a cup of tea with Lemon-san during lunch time at the Paragon. Nice to hang out with him and chit-chat over a cup of tea. It helps to destress and relax. Saw another lion dance performance at The Paragon. The lion dance performance was for Mondial Jewellery. Enjoy watching the lion dance performance.

I think I am a big fans of Lion Dance Performance. Whenever I saw there is a lion dance performance happening at the malls, surely I must go and take a look.

Alrighty, now time for fashionably yours to rest and relax after a hard day work. Some nice music with a can of beer is good enough for fashionably yours to chill out, with a good book/magazine.

CNY Celebrations

Fashionably yours is so busy on the 1st and 2nd day of CNY. OMG ! my place is madness with so many guests coming non-stop and full house. It is like a party at home for us. Lots of eating, merry making and laughters. Lots of catching up with each other. It is fun and enjoyable. Great that most of us are doing GREAT, despite the bad economy. Thank God for that. Of course I play host to my guests and relatives, serving and entertaining them.

Our family also has lots of visitings to do on the 2nd day of CNY. Visited my uncles and aunties and again lots of eating, eating, eating, drinking, drinking, drinking and laughters. Enjoyed my meet-the-relatives sessions. Lots of merry making. Fashionably yours loves eating the pineapple tarts, kuen pangkat, kueh lapis and the CNY goodies. Had a sumptumous dinner at my 2nd uncle house just now. Wide spread of food but fahsionably yours forgot to take pictures because was enjoying the delicious and yummy foodie of home made fresh fish, duck, mee siam and nice soup. At the same time was so engrossed in our conversation with my aunties, uncles and cousins. Lots of yak yak yak yak......never ending things to talk.

Going for a beer now and enjoy the CNY holiday. Tomorrow some more visitings to do and also to receive some more visitors at home......it is like this when you have big family.

Wonderful long weekend

Today is Monday and a Public Holiday in Singapore - Hari Raya Haji, which means fashionably yours don't have to report for work. Oh la la la and it is raining.....which means nice and cooling weather to snuggle in bed. A wonderful long weekend indeed.



Fashionably yours had an enjoyable weekend. Attended the wedding dinner of my colleague Ying on last Saturday. Had a great time hanging out with my crazy bunch of colleagues with lots of laughters and what else, good food at the wedding dinner.

Oh I think the food pictures are making me so hungry now. Well it is time for fashionably yours to take my lunch now. It is raining now so I should drink something hot and nice soupy. Thereafter time to have my short beauty sleep and do my nails, while catching up on my fashion feeds.

Long weekend

TGIF. The long weekend is here in view of Deepavali being a Public Holiday on next Monday.....Hurray ! Next week is gonna be a 4-day working week. However, let's enjoy the long weekend first.
