Season

In about 6 weeks, 2014 is arriving.  Soon will be hello 2014 and goodbye 2013.  Looking back this year, I have accomplished most of the stuff I listed down.  In fact it is just those normal daily stuff which at times we will overlook.  Don't set too high a target that you cannot achieve.  Small steps goes a long way.  Don't be too ambitious.  It is okay to make it simple and achievable.

Guess it is also time to make 2014 list.  My 2013 list will follow to 2014 and adding on some to the list.  Praying about it to God's calling. It could be a big leap of faith for me in 2014.  Shall not divulge much since still praying about it.  I am glad one of my colleagues is going on one year sabbatical leave next year for a mission trip in Timor.  Praise the Lord.  Life is not about making money,  there are things in life which is priceless and no amount of money will be able to buy it.  Of course we need money to survive but perhaps sometimes we need things that money cannot buy for us to bring happiness.  There is a point whereby in my life that material goods no longer satisfy me.  So what you have all the Hermes Birkin bags and rolls Royce cars in the world.  It is only possessions.   I am searching for spiritual now.  Perhaps different stage of life have different perspectives and needs.  We all will grow up, mellow with age and become wiser.  We learn as we grow up everyday.

Time for reflections and time to plan for 2014.   In fact, I never plan my foot injury and this intestines infection in 2013. I am sure nobody plan all these in their plans.  This bout of intestines infections is so serious that make me feel so sick.  Seen so many GPs and taking so many medicines.  Also my daddy almost want to admit me to Mount Elizabeth Hospital.  Well seen my family doctor yesterday and on antibiotics now.  With light diet and plenty of good rest, sure I will recover well with the Lord's blessings.  A doctor told me maybe it is God's will for my foot injury and wanting me to rest after working so hard. Let me share this bible phrase Proverbs 19:21 - You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.

Yes we can plan but ultimately the LORD's purpose will prevail.  We need to be flexible in our plans and trust the LORD.   My right foot injury and this bout of bad intestines infection really make me reflect alot recently.  There is a time for everything and things happen for a reason/season.  That is why there are four seasons but in Singapore is either rain, shine, hot or cooling seasons.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV)
